Creating window covering masterpieces for your home can be effortless when working with the many distinctive patterns, colors, and textures available today. When designing window treatments for your home, many factors must be taken into consideration such as lighting conditions, exposure to the sun, and varying changes in climate. Room usage also plays an important role in determining what window coverings are best suited for the situation.
We can propose the airiness of a sheer and casement fabric to diffuse light offering a moderate level of privacy from the street. Often a heavier type – woven fabric is suggested in conjunction with linings to blackout windows in a bedroom or home theater during your favorite movie. Insulative linings are recommended for drapery to help shield the window from road noises or cold temperatures during the winter months and by using poly / cotton linings, fabrics can be protected from sun rot, now colored linings can be used to provide a uniform appearance from the exterior.

Decorative hardware is the signature on the painting & is a wonderful way to add that “WOW” factor to any window treatment. Challenges in window designs can be resolved by using the wide range of hand, cord draw, and even motorized tracks for hard to reach areas. If motorization is in fact required, we carry automated hardware systems that have the ability to interface with any home theater or automated control systems. Track profiles are available to accommodate any straight or curved expanse of glass and can also be recessed into the ceiling to conceal all mounting and operating hardware. They can be curved to fit bay windows or to facilitate the stacking of drapery panels into pockets making panels disappear when in the open position. Recessed track systems have now become very popular as they help to conceal track systems when the drapery is not deployed.

So when do we come in?
GiCor often works directly with the client however you may want to get your interior designer involved as they often have a plan in mind & can add great value to the whole process. It is important to at least consider your window covering treatments before the drywall is being installed as construction details can often be altered in order to accommodate recessed profiles, backing & any electrical requirements should the treatments need to be motorized.
An initial meeting in our showroom to review fabrics & other shading products in order to create the perfect look. Memo samples can be ordered so to assist you with your final choices. Budgets are typically prepared at that time as they can definitely affect the final decision.
