Banded / Zebra shades combine sheer and opaque fabric stripes to give a modern look to roller style shading systems. Their dual or layered design functions as a roller style treatment where one layer passes in front of the other to create varying degrees of privacy on demand. Here is how they work:

Fabric Design: Zebra shades consist of alternating horizontal stripes of sheer and opaque material. When the shades are raised or lowered, you can position these stripes in various ways.

Light Control: By adjusting the position of the stripes, you can control how much light enters the room. When the sheer stripes are aligned, they allow light to filter in gently while providing a degree of privacy.

Room Darkening: When upgrading to the opaque fabrics, light is further subdued however still allows light to pass thru at each horizontal stripe.

Easy Operation: Most zebra shades operate using a retractable cord, a cordless system or motorized & powered by a rechargeable battery or solar to generate power during the day.
