GiCor offers a full range of contract drapery products for all types of commercial spaces including hotels & conference facilities, restaurants & bars, offices & industrial facilities.
Although most drapery treatments used in commercial applications are similar to residential treatments, the fabrics & hardware can be very different. With residential clients, the user is generally more “gentle” with their window coverings whereas commercial properties often have multiple users including the general public which tends to be much more aggressive on drapery in particular.
Commercial drapery treatments tend to be much bigger in scale as well often requiring commercial grade hardware & motors.
Our commercial drapery program includes a wide variety of fabric options; all suited for commercial applications with added features such as washability, fire resistant & topically applied stain resistant treatments. Fabric options include heat transfer prints where thousands of patterns & colors are available to be printed on a variety of base cloths including sheers, light filtering, textured velvets & of course several blackout fabric options. Other options include heavy wearing & fire rated linens, cottons, polyesters & blended weaves in thousands of patterns & colors. Some of these options include an attached blackout liner to create a single layer of opaque drapery fabrics. This means less stacking volume and cleaner looking drapery panels.
Hardware options include economy architectural profiles for lighter weight treatments & heavier profiles with ball bearing carriers for ease of operation over the largest of window openings. Heavier decorative commercial systems are also available when a white “utilitarian” track system just won’t do.
Valances are also typically used in hotel rooms to further reduce the amount of light entering the room. Styles include upholstered, box pleated, tailored & sometimes a simple piece of painted MDF. After all, “hotels don’t sell rooms, they sell sleep”!
When designing a window treatment for each property, GiCor needs to consider a variety of factors including whether the treatments will include multiple layers, the style of the room, the client demographic & of course budget & how long the treatments will be in service before future remodelling occurs.

So when do we come in?
GiCor is often approach by the project coordinator or designer at the planning stages. Treatment styles are discussed & fabric samples are ordered for final selection. Budgets are typically prepared at that time as they can definitely affect the final decision. From there a mock up is typically provide in one of the rooms where all interior furnishing items are reviewed for final orders.
Lead times are typical 8 to 12 weeks for most larger projects however tracking systems can be installed ahead of time during the construction process to avoid dirt & any potential damage at the finishing stage.
Remember that backing is typically recommended for most commercial drapery systems so plan ahead.
