Tambour panels
Looking for that extra detail to complete your design / construction project that can also help with acoustic issues due to echo affect from hard surfaces? GiCor offers a complete line of flexible wood tambour & acoustical panels.
Our Tambour panels are grooved decorative surfacing materials with a range of designs from solid woods, real wood veneers and brushed metallics. The grooving provides a unique decorative look as well as allows the panels to flex for ease in designing curves and angles both inwards and outwards.
Solid natural wood tambour has all of the benefits of real wood, is durable and can be stained or painted to match anydecor. In addition, tambour can be flexed to wrap around curves & corners giving a modern look to an otherwise normal condition.
Ideal treatments include walls, ceilings, pole wraps, wainscoting, furniture and doors.
Ideal applications include bars, hotels, restaurants, offices & theaters to name a few. Yes the Tambour panels are ideal as an acoustical treatment for media rooms & theaters where the balance of direct & reflected sound is crucial. Combined with absorption panels, our Tambour panels allow designers to create a both eye catching and functional room for their clients.
The Options:
- Standard size panels are include 1′ x 8′ slat length, or 1′ x 3′ slat length however custom sizes are also offered. Standard widths are 12″ and 16″ wide. (Nominal size width. As these panels are hand assembled – width will not be a true 12″ every time.)
- Standard heights are 96” & 120” however depending on wood species we can go up to 12 feet in length.
The Species:
- Red oak, white oak, poplar, mahogany, cherry, ash, maple, walnut as well as rare specialty woods such as purple heart, heat treated ash/poplar & more. We can also offer custom wood profiles if minimum volumes are met.
The Finishes:
- Stained, painted & now wire brush finishes which are achievable using a thicker real wood veneer face. While our profiles look great unfinished, applying a clear coat or stain brings out the grain even more!

These wall coverings contribute to overall sound absorbing & deadening especially in spaces where there is alot of hard surface. The 3 dimensional designs can add to the overall decor given the 15 unique & creative designs available. Panels are made from 100% solution dyed-polyester & are available in 48″ wide x 108″ high x 1/2″ thick panels.
Installation is also a breeze with each panel adhering to the substrate by way of contact adhesives or Liquid Nails.
Zintra acoustic panels are only for interior applications however are ideal for reception areas, boardrooms, large mneeting paces & even home theater.
