Bottom up shades are another innovation that allows further control over heat and glare while maintaining an optimal view of the outside world. By adding a second “take up” roller, which is under continuous tension, at the bottom of the shade, the fabric panel actually raises from the bottom instead of lowering from the top. The benefits of this system are even far greater than that of a regular style shade in the fact that they leave open the upper portion of the window maximizing the amount of light that comes into the space. As a result, a higher density fabric weave can be used, which maximizes the degree of privacy that can be achieved from the lower portion of the shade. This is especially important when attempting to establish or increase LEEDS accreditation on a specific construction project.
All suitable shade fabrics can be used for this system with the exception of most laminated goods. This is typically because the weaves vary greatly and use can result in side to side shade travel and therefore potential fraying.
Hardware systems include chain operators, crank mechanisms, and motorized systems with programmable controls to facilitate any application. Maximum dimensions vary with operating systems and fabrics used.
Ideal for all elevations in an office environment.
