Lightning Controls
Lighting controls are systems that allow users to manage and adjust lighting & other devices in their homes & commercial properties. These controls can range from simple manual (radio controlled) switches to advanced smart systems that can be integrated with smart home automation technologies. Modern lighting controls are often used to enhance convenience, energy efficiency, and ambiance while offering greater control over lighting requirements within a space.
At GiCor we understand that every project is unique so when deciding on the right lighting system for your project, a number of factors must be taken into account. These include number of wiring zones, types of lighting used, whether fixtures & bulbs are dimmable or not and most importantly, is there sufficient lighting for the intended use of the space.
For existing homes where walls are finished, painted & running new wiring is not possible, we recommend swapping out all existing switches to RF (radio controlled) devices so that they can be controlled using a number of devices such as touch panels, smart phones & voice control. Keypads can also be added in rooms where control of multiple lighting zones is required. Other devices such as audio, video, temperature & window coverings can also be controlled using a custom programmable keypad.
For new construction we have a lot more options including panelized lighting where many lighting zones can be pre-wired to each zone & controlled by a single multi-button keypad or touch screen to reduce the number of visible wall switches & controllers to a single source within each room. Lighting scenes can also be created / programmed and controlled as groups with many of these lighting solutions. Audio, video, temperature, shading & other devices can also be added to these scenes to create the perfect mood and setting for each event. Imagine a scene for each meal (breakfast, lunch & dinner) as well as scenes for movie night, entertaining or relaxing with a good book. “Alexa, turn on movie night”.

This includes assistance with selecting suitable fixtures for each area, considerations for task lighting, which fixtures need to be dimmable and to what levels as well as room where occupancy sensors can be used. At that point a general wiring plan can be done and programming options considered for each zone / room. Placement of switches, keypads & touch panels can then be confirmed.
